Overview Under general supervision, the Imaging Technologist Aide is responsible for assisting in all aspects of patient care, including preparing patients for exams and assisting in imaging procedures under the direction of the imaging technologist. This position involves transporting patients of all ages throughout the facility in a timely manner, supporting documentation, conducting patient research, managing supplies, and providing general assistance to the imaging team. The role also includes clerical duties, supporting communication among staff, patients, and caregivers, and demonstrating excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Patient Care Transport outpatient and inpatient patients to and from the imaging department, communicating any delays or extended wait times to staff or patients/caregivers. Support the expediting of trauma and critical patients in the imaging department. Document patient medical data under supervision. Prepare patients for examinations and assist with minor procedures within scope of practice. Assist in the transfer of patients on and off tables, applying proper lifting and moving mechanics. Maintain cleanliness of the department, including equipment and patient care areas. Assist technologists with post-procedure processing and preparing patient trays. Deliver specimens promptly and assemble/prepare equipment and exam rooms. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to infection control practices and isolation precautions. Perform EKGs as needed. Administrative Handle incoming calls efficiently, providing accurate information and taking messages as needed. Assist with scheduling, front desk duties, and data collection for quality control. Review patient information prior to appointments. Use PACS system to burn CDs and fax reports. Troubleshoot issues as they arise and assist with supplies and inventory management. Engage in professional development and effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff. Compliance/Safety Report safety incidents promptly, attend safety training, and perform work safely. Stay current with regulations, licenses, and certifications, and complete mandatory training. Understand and follow the department\’s standards of care, policies, and safety procedures. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED – Required Certification & Licensures BLS (American Heart Association) – Required Fingerprint Clearance Card application number – Required upon hire Fingerprint Clearance Card – Required within 90 days of hire Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), or Phlebotomy skills – Required Experience EMT/CNA/MA or similar patient care experience – Preferred IV start skills within 6 months of hire – Preferred 6 months healthcare experience – Required Proficiency in computer use and basic software programs is essential, as healthcare relies heavily on technology. #J-18808-Ljbffr
