Big Chief Hire, a leader in civil construction and machinery hire, is looking for a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician based in NSW. This hands-on role will see you on and off-site servicing and repairing earthmoving and heavy machinery at client locations across NSW.
What You Will Do
- Work in the yard and travel to sites when required to service, maintain, and repair plant and machinery, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure machinery meets operational standards.
- Maintain accurate service records and document repairs thoroughly.
- Work professionally with our clients ensuring they receive professional service delivery at all times.
What You Will Bring
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Plant & Machinery, or similar qualification.
- 1–3+ years of hands-on experience with heavy machinery or field service work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver’s licence (HR licence or higher preferred).
- Ability to work independently, travel to sites when required.
- Safety-first mindset with commitment to OH&S compliance.
