Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Community Resource Specialist to join our team. Northeast Arcβs Community Resource Center connects individuals and families with valuable resources and events in their local communities. By providing access to these resources, the Community Resource Center empowers families and individuals to actively participate in community life, creating a sense of belonging and inclusion.
Job Summary: The Community Resource Specialist implements and manages community-based programs and events, ensuring the effective development and implementation of program curriculums and special events. They will work directly with families and individuals to connect them to the community.
Job Type: Full-time, on-site 4 days in Acton, MA
Pay: $26.50-27.50/hour
Major Responsibilities:
- Contacts and builds professional relationships with local colleges and universities, community service providers, local parks and recreation, and local recreation activities to connect individuals with community resources beyond disability agencies.
- Develops rapport with families and clients to ensure that community goals are being addressed and needs are being met by providers, agencies, and resources; and maps community resources to utilize natural community supports.
- Provides 1:1 direct service as needed, including navigation, to connect individuals with all available resources.
- Collaborates with Program Directors, Staffing Coordinators, Adult Autism specialists, and DDS Service coordinators on caseload assignments to determine the needs of individuals and families being served.
- Meets regularly with the Program Directors in the Family Services Division.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Psychology, or a related field
– Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree - Prior experience working in the human services or disability field
- Valid driver\’s license and reliable transportation.
