Please note this position is based at Northdown Surgery although cross site working may be expected at times. This is a full-time position with hours and days of work to be discussed at interview. We are looking for an enthusiastic Care Navigator (receptionist) for our busy practice. Your role will involve speaking with patients face to face and on the telephone, dealing with their queries, making appointments, liaising with other team members, community services etc. Registering new patients and various other administrative duties.
Main duties of the job: You will need to be flexible, possess a high standard of customer care, good communication skills and the ability to work in a team as well as on your own initiative. A good standard of education, experience of working in a GP practice would be an advantage, but training will be provided for an applicant with the appropriate skills.
About us: We are a busy and progressive GP practice operating across two sites Dashwood Medical Centre and Northdown Surgery which recently have successfully merged to work as one unified team. Together, we provide high quality primary care services to a combined patient population of approximately 25,000. Our multidisciplinary team includes a large number of GPs, advanced nurse practitioners, paramedic practitioners, care home team, practice nurses, and healthcare support staff, all working collaboratively to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care. Job responsibilities: It is the duty of each team member to assist in the smooth running of the Practice; however, this role focuses specifically on reception and administrative duties. It is also the responsibility of each employee to make sure that whoever comes into contact with the practice, either in person or via the telephone, receives the highest standard of respect, courtesy, fairness and professionalism. Currently, the surgery is open from 08:00-18:30 hours on a Monday to Thursday, and Friday 08:00-20:00. Candidates will be expected to be flexible in their working hours. The post holder will not be expected to work more than their contracted hours per week.
Person Specification: Qualifications GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care Disclosure and Barring Service Check. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
