Grounds Maintenance Operative | Northcote Hotel & Gardens
Northcote, a prestigious 26-bedroom country house hotel with a Michelin star restaurant led by Lisa Goodwin-Allen, is renowned for its exquisite dining and the beautiful, tranquil setting of its gardens and grounds in the picturesque Ribble Valley. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team and help us maintain these stunning outdoor spaces.
If you have a passion for horticulture and experience in maintaining high-standard grounds, this is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the overall guest experience at a luxury establishment. You will play a vital role in ensuring our gardens, lawns, and grounds are always immaculate and reflect the quality and elegance of Northcote.
Hours
Salary – £25000 + monthly tronc bonus
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general grounds maintenance duties, including mowing, strimming, weeding, pruning, and planting.
Maintain flowerbeds, shrubberies, and other planted areas to a high standard.
Ensure pathways, driveways, and terrance areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Manage irrigation systems and ensure appropriate watering of plants and lawns.
Undertake seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing, gritting, and preparing grounds for events.
Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently.
Identify and report any issues or damage to the grounds or equipment to the Managing Director.
Work collaboratively with the wider hotel team to support overall property presentation.
What We Are Looking For:
Desired – Proven experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, or a similar role, ideally within a hotel, estate, or high-end property.
Required – Knowledge of plants, shrubs, and general garden care.
Require – Ability to operate various grounds maintenance machinery and tools safely.
Required – A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Required – Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desired – A full UK driving license
