Senior Care Assistant
Location: Clarkston Care Home
Job Type: Full-time, 7 shifts across a 14 day period, 8.30pm - 8am

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care while supporting the day-to-day running of the care team and ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care in a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality personal care while promoting residents' dignity, independence, and choice.
  • Administer medication safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and support Care Assistants during each shift.
  • Develop, implement, and update person-centred care plans.
  • Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes promptly.
  • Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
  • Assist residents with mobility, nutrition, hydration, and daily living activities.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and health and safety regulations are followed at all times.
  • Support new staff through mentoring and induction where required.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and caring environment for residents and staff.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or experienced Care Assistant.
  • Medication administration experience.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • A caring, compassionate, and professional approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • SVQ Level 3 required
