Northbrook College, part of the Chichester College Group, is seeking a College Community Support Officer to provide essential support services across the College campus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first responder to incidents across the College site.
  • Assist Managers and College staff in applying collaborative problem‑solving and restorative justice techniques.
  • Act as Safeguarding Officer for assigned cases, working with the Safeguarding team to gather evidence and manage disclosures in line with college policy.
  • Implement de‑escalation methods to address challenging behaviour among students and vulnerable adults.
  • Support strategies that promote social cohesion, integration, and positive student engagement.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English Language, or equivalent, at Grade 4/C or above.
  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (Coaching, Health and Social Care, Youth Work, or similar).
  • Experience working with 14‑19‑year‑olds and vulnerable adults, including those with challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults policies, Prevent, and the Equality Act 2010.
