The Opportunity
We’re recruiting for a Raw Materials Co-ordinator to join a fast-paced food manufacturing business in Pontefract. This is an exciting time to join the company – the site has recently been acquired by a global food group with nearly 70 factories worldwide, bringing significant investment and a full factory refurbishment programme. This role offers genuine progression, with the potential to develop into a Technical Manager position within 2–3 years for the right person.
The Role
This is a hands-on, highly visible role within a busy factory environment. You’ll take ownership of raw material approval, compliance, and coordination, ensuring materials meet technical, safety, and quality standards before entering production. You’ll need to be quick-thinking, highly organised, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving manufacturing setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing raw material specifications and approvals
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Coordinating internal departments (Technical, QA, Production, Planning, Procurement)
- Ensuring documentation and systems are accurate and audit-ready
- Supporting supplier performance management
- Assisting with audits and customer requirements
- Driving continuous improvement within raw material processes

This role requires a food manufacturing background – this is essential. It would be ideal for:
