We are working with a well-established food manufacturing business in Peterborough who are looking to appoint an experienced Quality Manager to join their site leadership team. This is a factory-facing role, ideal for a hands-on quality professional who enjoys being visible on the shop floor and driving standards through people, process and culture.

The Role

Reporting into the Technical Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site quality and food safety systems, with a strong presence within production. You will also deputise for the Site Technical Manager as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing the site Quality Team
  • Maintaining and improving the site Quality Management System
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with BRC Global Standards and customer requirements
  • Acting as site lead for audits (BRC, customer, internal and third-party)
  • Driving a strong food safety and quality culture across the factory
  • Managing non-conformances, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Deputising for the Site Technical Manager when required

About You

You will be an experienced quality professional from a food manufacturing background, confident operating in a fast-paced, factory-based environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality role
  • Strong working knowledge of BRC standards
  • Experience in chilled or short-shelf-life food manufacturing (desirable)
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • The confidence to challenge, influence and lead on the factory floor
