We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality and consistency. They are now seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead food safety, quality, and compliance across their site. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the General Manager and senior stakeholders to ensure products, processes, and standards meet both customer and regulatory expectations.

The Role

As Technical Manager, you will take full ownership of the technical function, driving continuous improvement while maintaining robust food safety and quality systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing the site technical and quality teams
  • Ensuring full compliance with BRC, HACCP, food safety, and legal requirements
  • Managing internal and external audits, including customer and third-party audits
  • Acting as the technical lead for customer specifications, complaints, and non-conformances
  • Driving a strong food safety and quality culture across the site
  • Working cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and NPD to support business objectives
  • Keeping up to date with changes in food legislation and industry best practice

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in a Technical Manager or senior technical role within food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and food safety legislation
  • Experience managing audits and customer relationships
  • Confident leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • A hands-on, pragmatic approach suited to a fast-paced manufacturing environment
