The team operates with a strong sense of purpose, pride, and camaraderie, particularly when supporting emergency responses where every contribution truly counts to the public of Northamptonshire.

The work this team does makes a difference by: This team plays a critical role in keeping Front Line Vehicles operational across the county. By working alongside our in-house team and our external contractors in the delivery of maintaining and repairing vital vehicles and equipment to the highest safety and compliance standards, you will directly enable frontline officers to respond quickly and effectively to incidents. Whether it’s ensuring fire appliances or Operational Response vehicles are ready for deployment, minimising downtime, or providing on-scene technical support, your work helps protect lives, property, and communities every single day.

The purpose of the role: To supervise the motor vehicle technicians to provide a repair and maintenance function for Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service (NFRS) and Northamptonshire Police (NP), to include all frontline fire vehicles, specialist vehicles, support vehicles and associated technical equipment. Ensuring statutory regulations and best practice requirements are met so that two blue light emergency services can operate 24/7 365 days a year. It is therefore critical that any supervisor has experience in a minimum of (i) HGV or (ii) Light vehicles and any additional experience in Motorcycles, plant equipment or equipment would also be advantageous.
