The Office of Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) is looking for talented and experienced Early Intervention and Prevention Practitioners to join the team and help deliver the “Safe and Sound” plan.
You will have a passion for working with children, young people and their families often with complex needs.
You will have the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people, to respond flexibly to their needs and to the priorities of the Service.
You will need to be a good communicator and advocate of young people with experience of working with the whole family.
You will have good working knowledge of partner organisations and the Voluntary Sector across Northamptonshire.
Some knowledge of the criminal justice system would be great too.
You will be part of a multi disciplined team delivering across the county and the focus of your work will be with vulnerable and at-risk groups.
You will be able to engage with young people, support personal development and learning, reduce school exclusions, harm, risk and exploitation.
You will support young people in schools, in their homes and out in the community.
You will draw on the principles of integrated working and signs of safety, working creatively with partner agencies to establish and deliver effective support for children, young people and families, helping to divert from involvement with the criminal justice system.
You will have experience of assessing vulnerability and exploitation.
Have experience of risk management and can demonstrate independent problem-solving skills.
You will be joining an established team of Early Intervention Practitioners who have extensive experience of holding a case load with a variety of presenting issues.
You will have the ability to engage people of all ages and use this as a teachable moment to empower change.
You will have proven experience of working in a range of settings and have a can-do attitude and a passion for initiating positive outcomes for people.
You will like to continually develop as a professional.
The main purpose of this role is to be out in the community supporting children, young people and their families.
We offer a hybrid working model and you can work from home and from any Police site across the county.
Our main office is Darby House, Wellingborough.
