A volunteer work placement opportunity for individuals within our Events team. We are looking for someone to help with the preparation of these events but also to help and assist the Events Manager on the event itself. The roles and responsibilities of this placement is very hands on and wide ranging. For all the job details please see the attached job description. Our annual events programme runs from January through to end of September. During this busy period we run a wide portfolio of events and activities for a range of target audiences. Our main events are below:
Key roles and responsibilities
- Pre-event planning: Packing Race / Events Packs, medals, risk assessments, route planning, etc.
- Pre-event set up: Route marking, risk assessment checks, packing the van, bannering, setting out equipment, etc.
- On the day event tasks: Coordinating activities, marshalling, registration desk, helping with enquiries, handing out medals, compiling results, etc.
- Post event: Event clear up, evaluations, administering post event surveys, measuring impact of the event.
- To ensure that Northamptonshire Sport policies, procedures, minimum operating standards and guidelines are met and adhered to.
- To ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons, and to comply with policies and procedures relating to health and safety and safeguarding.
- Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare need.
- To carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description.
Travel to various sites is very important in this role, own transport is required.
