We are looking for an outstanding individual who likes a challenge and has a proven track record of leadership and delivery within the electrical industry. We now have a vacancy for an Electrical Team Leader within our Property Services Maintenance Team.

You will have a clear sense of responsibility and focus with a "can do" attitude whilst complying with the Council’s policies and procedures including (but not limited to) safeguarding, financial regulations, promotion of equalities, customer care, agreed audit actions and health and safety (ensuring that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons). You will report directly to our Housing Compliance Manager.

What will you be doing?

  • To be responsible for ensuring the Council legally complies with its responsibilities with regards to electrical condition of housing stock and undertakes its legal obligations.
  • To provide technical leadership to our electrical team of officers, electricians, admin staff and be responsible for the qualifying supervisor (QS) duties, on repairs, rewire installations, upgrades and electrical installation and testing.
  • Additionally, have experience of managing and monitoring contractors.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements in conjunction with the electrical role with the ability to write task based risk assessments and safe systems of work.

About you

  • You would need to be suitably qualified and experienced to perform the qualifying supervisor role, having served a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Installation and Maintenance, with minimum qualifications City & Guilds 2391, 2382 18th accreditation and City & Guilds 2396 Electrical Design and Installation or equivalent.
  • Able to produce clear, concise and persuasive written reports and letters on complex issues.
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service, being responsive, flexible and dedicated to 'getting it right first time.'
