PURPOSE OF THE JOB To plan, design, deliver and evaluate training programs to Police Officers, Special Constables and staff as directed by the Core Skills Training Sergeant. The role also involves supporting the Core Skills Sergeant in the management and assessment of Student Officers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To plan, design and organise learning and development programmes to support the professional and technical skills development of the workforce.
  • To deliver development programmes, making full use of all the technology, equipment and other facilities available to the department.
  • To appraise students of strengths and areas for development, including counselling and coaching as appropriate.
  • To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions provided including level one evaluation, where required.
  • To assess, plan and implement future developments as required.
  • To consult with internal partners, external agencies, and individuals to maximise benefits for the force training programme.
  • To support the Core Skills Sergeant in the effective implementation of student placements.
  • To support the Core Skills Sergeant in ensuring the implementation of robust quality assurance of programmes and the review of students.
