This is a rare opportunity to join a brand new, growing in-house legal team at Northamptonshire Police, working on genuinely varied public sector work in a culture that is friendly, collaborative, and refreshingly down-to-earth.
The Role
Your primary focus will be employment law. You will manage a caseload of Employment Tribunal matters and provide day-to-day advisory support to the HR team across the full range of employment issues, including policies, procedures, and grievances. You will also have the opportunity to support on police misconduct matters, inquests, and coronial work. No prior experience in these areas is required; full training will be provided. You will be well supported, with both paralegal and administrative assistance in place.

What You Will Need

The Package
- Salary: £56,133 – £66,648
- Hybrid working: one to two days per week at Wootton Hall, Northampton
- Flexitime: hours worked over 37 per week accrue as additional leave
- Free on-site parking
- Local Government Pension Scheme
- 25 days annual leave, rising to 30 days after three years' continuous service
