Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides integrated health care services to HMP Littlehey. We are currently looking to recruit an innovative band 6 nurse to work within our existing team. The primary focus of this post will be to deliver the highest standard of care required to meet the diverse and complex healthcare needs of an adult male population.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly team player who is passionate about all aspects of Nursing and who has exceptional clinical skills. The post holder will lead by example, demonstrating consistent exemplary standards of care and professionalism, is innovative and keen to drive nursing forward.
HMP Littlehey is a large Category C prison located in the picturesque village of Perry near Grafham Water, Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire with free parking, staff restaurant and an onsite gymnasium. Healthcare services are delivered from two modern well-equipped healthcare centres by a multi-disciplinary team who have, in the past, won the prestigious WHO European Best Practice in Prisons Award. We are a warm and friendly team who pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of care. The successful candidates will benefit from an extensive supernumerary induction period, alongside regular supervision and appraisals and be encouraged to undertake training.
Main duties of the job:
- Undertaking medication delivery and administration.
- Assessing new receptions.
- Chronic disease management.
- Palliative Care.
- Emergency response.
- Supervision of staff management of complaints.
- Adherence to prison/NHFT policies & procedures.

- Registered Nurse Adult educated to degree level, or with equivalent experience, with at least 2 years post-registration practice.
