The Finance Business Partner reports to the Head of Financial Management. The role leads a team of management accountants in delivering a high-quality service for leaders and managers within the directorate. It covers all aspects of financial management, supporting budget holders, overseeing and providing expert advice to business units by identifying, collating and analysing key information from operational and support services to produce meaningful and insightful reports. The role includes an element of NHSE monthly reporting, compiling robust auditable working papers, and assisting in the preparation of the month 9 and year end accounts. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader to join our friendly and inclusive team, playing a pivotal role in shaping service delivery for the future and in navigating the evolving finance environment.
The financial management team seeks to achieve optimum value for money in all of the trusts services by helping managers understand the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of resources under their control. The post holder will need to produce insightful financial analysis and be persuasive when dealing with conflicting priorities, ensuring financial opportunities and risks are quantified and understood by a variety of stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Lead a team of management accountants to deliver a high-quality financial management service for directors and managers.
- Provide financial management support to budget holders and offer expert advice to business units.
- Identify, collate and analyse key information from operational and support services to produce meaningful reports.
- Contribute to NHSE monthly reporting, maintain robust auditable working papers, and assist in the preparation of month 9 and year end accounts.
- Support service planning and demonstrate how actions today defend long-term financial sustainability.
- Experience in financial management; NHS experience is an advantage but not required.
- Ability to produce insightful financial analysis and communicate persuasively to stakeholders with conflicting priorities.
- Willingness to work in an NHS environment and bring fresh views and practices.
Location: based in Kettering; travel independently to other bases in the Trust across Northamptonshire. Part-time considered.
