About the Role

Would you like to be part of an exciting journey by joining a growing school based at our brand-new site with outstanding facilities off Thorpeville? Northampton School (part of The NSB Trust) is seeking to appoint a highly organised, professional and proactive Attendance Officer to play a key role in improving student attendance and punctuality across the school.

This is an important position within our Inclusion team, working closely with the SENDCo, Senior Leaders, Heads of Year, families and external agencies to ensure that every student is supported to attend school regularly and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of attendance processes, first-day response procedures, attendance monitoring and intervention work with students and families.

Previous experience working in a school attendance, pastoral or administrative role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate. The successful applicant will need excellent communication skills, high levels of accuracy and a commitment to supporting young people and their families.

About You

  • You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills and be able to prioritise a varied workload;
  • You will be motivated, resilient, flexible and able to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • You will be confident communicating with parents, students, colleagues and external agencies;
  • You will have strong ICT skills and experience of using databases and Microsoft Office applications;
  • You will have excellent attention to detail and be able to maintain accurate records;
  • You will be professional, approachable and able to manage sensitive situations with discretion;
  • You will have a positive approach to challenge and be committed to improving student outcomes;
  • You will support the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students and help ensure the school remains a safe and positive learning environment.

What We Offer

  • A brand-new school with exceptional facilities and an ambitious and supportive team environment.
  • Extensive CPD and leadership development opportunities across The NSB Trust.
  • The opportunity to be part of a growing school community from its early stages.

The NSB Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts working with children and young people will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
