LOCATION: cinch Stadium, Franklins Gardens

REPORTS TO: Head of Community

REMIT: To deliver high quality rugby coaching within schools, clubs and the wider community as directed by the Rugby Development Officer for Northamptonshire. Delivery area to be primarily in Northamptonshire, and other areas where appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To deliver high quality coaching sessions to people of all ages, genders and abilities primarily within, but not restricted to, Northamptonshire as and when scheduled by the Rugby Development Officer.
  • To deliver coach education sessions to young leaders, coaches, volunteers and teachers as directed by the line manager.
  • To visit and actively support local clubs to help improve standards of coaching and delivery, to aid player retention, development and club sustainability as directed by Rugby Development Officer.
  • To assist in the delivery of regular and appropriate rugby union competitive opportunities.
  • To take a professional approach to the planning, preparation and organization of coaching and training sessions.
  • To maintain a sound knowledge of the clubs safeguarding policies, reporting procedures and process of communication.
  • To ensure the safety and welfare of all participants in coaching and training sessions.
  • To promote and support the work of Northampton Saints, on match days and the promotion of camps sales.
  • To strengthen club, school and community links through positive relationship building with members of respective organisations.
  • To undertake any other necessary and relevant duties under the direction of the Rugby Development Officers.
  • To deliver and assist in the planning of camps, festivals and events.
  • To promote new opportunities for business growth and delivery within schools, clubs and the wider communities.
  • To ensure participant data is collected and reported to the Community Administrator, as and when required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:

  • England Rugby Coaching Award (ERCA)
  • A Current valid DBS certificate
  • A Full UK driving licence

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION:

  • Minimum Emergency First Aid Course or equivalent
  • England Rugby Refereeing Award (ERRA)
