Responsibilities
The Student and Family Officer - DDSL will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school. They will contribute to strategy discussions and inter‑agency meetings, advise and support other staff on child welfare and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police. The DDSL will monitor and act on all safeguarding matters and concerns, ensuring the work of deputies is completed to the highest standard. The officer will also promote a “Speak Up” culture by supporting colleagues to raise concerns without blame, proactively raising any issues that come to their attention.
