We are looking for an experienced Data Manager to join the team at Northampton High. We have a fantastic opportunity supporting the smooth handling of Data processes in our school.

You will work in close collaboration with the Deputy Head and the Business Support Manager in school to ensure the integrity, accuracy and quality of data is maintained. You will define and follow appropriate processes to allow school functions to run smoothly.

You will have strong experience in database management. Educated to degree level, you will have extensive knowledge and experience of dealing with a wide range of MIS requests in a service environment. Knowledge of SIMS would be an advantage. Experience of gathering information and communicating data in a range of formats to relevant stakeholders is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage system permissions, ensuring all staff have correct access to the system in line with GDPR and Information Security requirements.
  • Coordinate and complete the schools census and other statutory returns.
  • Responsible for the adoption and support of the Common Transfer File process and adherence to GDST data standards to provide consistency of data from school to school.
  • Create, maintain and publish reports, and develop templates as requested.
  • Set up and maintain procedures for entering and updating information in the Schools Management Information System, training and supporting those who upload and manipulate student and staff data.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of assessment marksheets and report templates.
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate the production of academic reports to parents.
  • Produce and maintain appropriate report templates to facilitate the extraction of data from the MIS and other systems in a variety of formats.
  • Assist school leaders in their analysis of academic and pastoral data through effective export and analysis of data.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in the development of the curriculum model, producing and maintaining the timetable in the MIS System.
  • Support colleagues in managing the student options process.
  • Prepare for the new academic year, carrying out tasks such as promotions of students, making the transition to the new academic year, populating groups, staffing and rooms.
  • Update and apply periodic and casual changes to courses, teachers, and rooms.
