We are looking for a proactive Facilities Officer to support the Senior Facilities Officer and Operations Supervisor in the provision of the schools' support service, ensuring the school is secure, safe, and maintained for pupils, staff and visitors working to agreed service standards. The role of Facilities Officer is to play a key role in all aspects of site security and maintenance. This will involve unlocking and locking of buildings and facilities as required, ensuring fire doors and windows are secure, maintaining the security of the campus, buildings, and facilities and dealing with any breaches of security.

The post holder will undertake a maintenance plan as instructed by the Senior Facilities Officer, carrying out repairs, maintaining equipment, overseeing the daily upkeep of heating, lighting, water, drainage, and other services. The post holder will also provide support for lettings and school events. They will also undertake any cleaning requirements that may arise and keep grounds clean, tidy and litter free, including sweeping of pathways and empty litter bins daily. The post holder will also on occasion be required to clean the trips' minibus inside and out prior to excursions, promoting the school in a professional image and will drive school vehicles as required.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting. They will hold relevant qualifications in facilities or a related field, including IOSHH and MIDAS qualifications (or be willing to undertake these). Experience of Caretaking, Plumbing, Carpentry/Joinery, Painting and IEE Wiring Regulations is desirable. You will be a team player with a flexible approach to your working day. Working shift patterns will vary depending on the needs of the school.
