The post holder will be a part of a team of Biomedical receptionists delivering support services to departments within the Pathology support unit (PSU). The post holder will work on reception booking in patients arriving for their blood test, processing outcomes, and booking patient appointments. To perform laboratory duties as directed by a supervisor as and when required. The post holder will undertake some technical and administrative tasks to ensure reliable service delivery.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Mainly working in the Blood taking unit (BTU) reception to check in patients from the appointment booking system and able to use CAMIS and ICE system.
  • Cover reception for other Biomedical areas as required.
  • Updating Swiftqueue booking system for 'drop in' patients with booking the appointment and stating where the referral for the blood test originated.
  • Printing out ICE blood request forms prior to clinic.
  • Assisting the supervisor with varied admin tasks, such as filing and ad hoc requests.
