Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time or part-time Biomedical Support Worker to provide assistance with administrative/technical support in the department of Cellular Pathology. Applications are invited from enthusiastic candidates who have a methodical approach to work and enjoy working as part of a team.

The post involves receiving and booking in specimen samples, inputting data to the laboratory information systems, filing and general administration work, dealing with telephone enquiries, pre-analytical sample sorting, administration duties, and general laboratory housekeeping. The post holder will be expected to follow Standard Operating Procedures, have good IT skills, and a versatile approach to working. Good communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy and customer service skills are key to this job role. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the desire to provide a service of the highest quality.

Responsibilities

  • Input data to the laboratory information systems.
  • Filing and general administration tasks.
  • Deal with telephone enquiries.
