What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead compliance & best practice
  • Ensure adherence to UK health & safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
  • Maintain and evolve policies, procedures, and safe systems of work
  • Act as the central point of contact for all H&S matters
  • Drive risk management
  • Carry out risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and workplace inspections
  • Identify hazards and implement practical control measures
  • Keep risk registers up to date and ensure actions are followed through
  • Build a strong safety culture
  • Deliver engaging training, inductions, and toolbox talks
  • Promote awareness and accountability across all levels
  • Encourage a positive, proactive approach to workplace safety
  • Own incident management
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents
  • Produce clear reports with actionable recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with RIDDOR reporting requirements
  • Support continuous improvement
  • Conduct internal audits and monitor performance through KPIs
  • Provide insights and reports to leadership
  • Help shape and enhance long-term safety strategy

What you’ll bring:

  • Essential:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Clear communication skills and a practical mindset
  • Attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability
  • Desirable:
  • IOSH membership (Tech or Grad)
  • Experience with audits and incident investigations
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 or similar frameworks
  • Experience within a production or operational environment
