Tender Planner

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Tender Planner to support bid and tender processes for major civil engineering projects across the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring that project programmes are accurate, commercially robust, and contractually compliant.

The Role

As a Freelance Tender Planner, you will develop and review project schedules during the pre-construction phase. You will work closely with commercial and project teams to produce realistic and achievable programmes that strengthen bid submissions and tender evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare tender programmes for major heavy civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

• Use Primavera P6 to develop clear, realistic, and commercially compliant project schedules.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure bid programmes reflect construction methodology, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.

• Assess feasibility, phasing, and sequencing of proposed works for tenders.

• Provide programme-related insights to support bid strategy and highlight potential risks or opportunities.

• Ensure tender programmes comply with NEC or other relevant contract requirements.

• Contribute to bid documentation, presentations, and client submissions.

• Maintain accurate records of tender schedules and updates.

About You

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in planning, scheduling, or project controls for heavy civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and understanding of NEC or similar contract planning requirements.

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project phasing, and resource planning.

• Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and manage multiple tender programmes simultaneously.
