Job Title: Semi Senior Accountant
Location: Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Overview

Our client is an established and growing independent accountancy practice based in Milton Keynes, specialising in accountancy, taxation, and business advisory services for small and medium‑sized businesses. Due to continued organic growth, they are now seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone already working within a UK practice who is looking to further develop their technical skills in a supportive, flexible environment with genuine long‑term progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting as a key point of contact for a varied portfolio of clients
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional service
• Preparing Statutory Accounts
• Preparing Corporation Tax Returns
• Preparing Self‑Assessment Tax Returns and P11Ds
• Preparing Real Time Capital Gains Tax reports
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Attending and participating in regular client meetings
• Managing multiple assignments and ensuring all deadlines are met

The Ideal Candidate

• AAT qualified and actively studying towards ACCA or ACA
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Strong experience using Xero or other cloud‑based accounting software
• Highly organised, proactive and detail‑driven
• Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
• Confident managing a varied client portfolio

Desirable

• Experience using IRIS software
• Exposure to advisory‑focused client work
