We are recruiting a Steel Erector to join a Northampton-based manufacturer of industrial capital equipment. The role involves the on-site assembly and installation of large steel structures and machinery frames produced in-house. This position would suit someone with a strong background in structural steel erection or heavy mechanical installation.

The Role

  • Erecting and assembling steel structures and equipment frames
  • Working from engineering drawings and method statements
  • Using MEWPs, cranes, and lifting equipment to position components
  • Bolting, aligning, and securing structural assemblies
  • Working both in the workshop and on customer sites as required
  • Following all health and safety procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Steel Erector or in a similar structural role
  • Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Comfortable working at height and in industrial environments
  • Valid CSCS card preferred
  • Experience using lifting equipment and working alongside crane operations
  • Strong safety awareness and team‑focused attitude
