SEND Assistant – Secondary Schools – Wellingborough

Location: Wellingborough (Multiple Schools)

We are working with several secondary schools in Wellingborough seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Assistants to join their teams on a long-term or permanent basis starting September 2025.

This is a wonderful opportunity for those who want to support pupils with additional needs, contribute to inclusive education, and work alongside experienced SEN teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEND in the classroom and during school activities

  • Assisting with personalised learning plans and adapting resources to meet individual needs

  • Helping students develop social, communication, and independent living skills

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to promote inclusive learning

  • Supporting behaviour management and ensuring a safe, supportive environment

  • Assisting with personal care and mobility where required

  • Keeping accurate records and reporting on student progress and wellbeing

What We\’re Looking For:

  • Genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEND

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

  • Experience in education, childcare, or SEND support is desirable but not essential

  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to making a positive impact

  • Good communication skills and a calm, approachable manner
