We are recruiting an Interim Repairs Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Northampton, supporting property services across the local region on a 6‑month contract. As an Interim Repairs Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and resolving property repair issues across housing stock, ensuring homes are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and safe for residents. Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed property inspections, including condition surveys and defect diagnosis
  • Prepare technical reports and schedules of work
  • Manage repair cases from initial inspection through to completion
  • Oversee works relating to general repairs, damp, mould, and structural issues
  • Prepare specifications and manage contractors to deliver remedial works
  • Ensure all works comply with legislation, regulations, and health & safety standards
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams
  • Monitor progress of works and ensure timely completion
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Support wider property services as required in your role as a Repairs Surveyor

About you:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within Social Housing or property services
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance and repairs
  • Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree in Building Surveying or similar)
  • Excellent understanding of building pathology, including damp and general defects
  • Experience managing contractors and overseeing works
  • Strong report writing and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload as a Repairs Surveyor
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
