Tradewind Recruitment are currently supporting a specialist education setting in Northampton in recruiting a part‑time Caretaker to join their site team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a school setting that supports children and young people with additional needs, helping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for staff and students.
Role Details
- Part‑time position – 20 hours per week
- 52 weeks per year
- Flexible working hours available
- Ideal working pattern: 7:30 am–9:00 am and 3:30 pm–5:00 pm during term time, plus an additional 5 hours across the week
- More flexibility available during school holidays
- Based primarily in Northampton, with occasional travel to other local education sites as required
Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the premises daily
- General site maintenance and repairs
- Health and safety checks across the school site
- Ensuring the grounds and facilities are well maintained
- Liaising with contractors where necessary
- Supporting with any day‑to‑day premises needs
Ideal Candidate
- Have previous caretaker/site management or facilities experience
- Be reliable, proactive and able to work independently
- Have a good understanding of health and safety within a school or public setting
- Hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel between local sites if needed
