About Us We specialise in the retail, commercial and industrial sectors, including large supermarket chains, distribution warehouses, HM Prisons, and office fit-out. From HV / LV mains distribution to LED lighting replacement projects to large scale Commercial Solar PV systems, we use the latest cutting‑edge technology to ensure the highest standards of work, every time.
The Role As a working electrical supervisor, you will be expected to manage a small team of electricians and sub‑contractors on commercial and industrial installations; there may be aspects of installation work carried out by yourself depending on the size and nature of the project. Responsibilities include:
- Installing, maintaining, and testing electrical installations including fire alarms, emergency lighting, data networks, Solar PV, and HVAC systems.
- Carrying out responsive and preventative maintenance.
- Carrying out EICR’s and all associated remedial works.
- Completing reports and certificates using iPads and laptop PCs.
- Submitting job reports and weekly timesheets.
- Carrying out fault finding.
Our projects are nationwide (except Northern Ireland) and you will be expected to travel as required. Hotel accommodation will be provided when working over a certain distance from home, TBA depending on location and travelling time. You will be working full time, Monday to Friday, with some out‑of‑hours working and weekends as projects dictate, typical 58 hours per week. Participate in 24‑hour emergency call‑out service – You will also be expected to be available to carry out emergency work. Manning the call‑out service is done on a flexible rotation basis of approximately 1 week in every 4 to 6. You will be paid a fixed standby rate, a call‑out bonus, and your normal hourly rate from the time you leave home until the time you return home, when called out.
The Person The successful Electrician MUST be a qualified electrician, with a minimum of a City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent City & Guilds Qualification). Requirements include:
- 18th Edition of BS7671.
- 5+ years’ experience in the electrical field.
- CITB Health & Safety Qualification – Either SSSTS or SMSTS and hold a current ECS gold card.
- A full driving licence (ideally clean or a maximum of 6 points).
- Excellent time‑management skills with a flexible approach to working hours.
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection.
Desirable Experience Commercial Solar PV Experience. IPAF Card (MEWPS) & PASMA Card (Towers).
The Package JIB Rates paid including enhanced rates for overtime / weekends / nights etc. in line with JIB working rules and additional training provided. 4 weeks’ holidays plus bank holidays. Pension scheme. Fully stocked company van with power tools, equipment and fuel card (including travel to and from work). Additional payment for being on standby and payment for being called out plus hourly rates. Hotels booked and paid for centrally by the company.
