As part of our growing environmental design capability, we are seeking a Landscape Architect to help lead the delivery of high-quality landscapes and measurable biodiversity outcomes across major infrastructure and construction projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the UK’s mandatory 10% Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), working with our Partner – The Eden Project, whilst contributing to projects that leave a lasting positive legacy.

This is a Hybrid role between home, projects and any UK office location.

Design & Project Delivery
  • Prepare and deliver landscape designs across all project stages (RIBA 0–7)
  • Produce: Landscape masterplans and detailed design packages, Planting strategies and public realm designs, Green infrastructure and SuDS solutions
  • Collaborate with our internal Design and Engineering Teams as well as external architects, engineers, ecologists and project teams to deliver coordinated, buildable designs
  • Collaborate with the BAM Environmental Sustainability and Digital Teams who support the Operational Business at BAM.
Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)
  • Contribute to and support delivery of at least 10% Biodiversity Net Gain
  • Work with the Defra Biodiversity Metric to assess baseline and post-development value
  • Develop habitat creation, enhancement and restoration strategies
  • Support preparation of: BNG reports, Landscape & Ecological Management Plans (LEMP), Habitat Management & Monitoring Plans (HMMP)
  • Collaborate with ecologists and planners to secure approvals
Planning & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Support planning applications and environmental submissions
  • Engage with: Clients and consultants, Local Planning Authorities, Key stakeholders
  • Contribute to design statements and visual/environmental assessments
Construction & Delivery
  • Provide on-site support during construction
  • Undertake landscape inspections and quality assurance
  • Ensure successful implementation of planting and habitat works

Essential
  • Degree in Landscape Architecture or related discipline
  • Experience working on UK-based projects (consultancy, contractor, or developer side)
  • Understanding of landscape design principles
  • Understanding of UK planning system and environmental policy
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
Desirable
  • Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and Defra Metric
  • Working towards or chartered status (CMLI)
  • Experience in infrastructure or construction projects
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, GIS, and Adobe software
