About the Role

We are seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy FMCG/manufacturing site in Wellingborough. This is a hands-on role where the focus is on root cause problem-solving and implementing the right fix first time, rather than temporary patches. You will report to the Shift Manager and often work independently, though you will always have a support network via the team’s WhatsApp group and management escalation if required. On Fridays, there is always a full team on site. The site has a fantastic engineering team – they have won multiple awards, including a celebration day for the engineers, reflecting the value they place on their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve mechanical and electrical faults with a "right first time" approach.
  • Work under pressure while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
  • Record and manage maintenance activities using the CMMS system on iPads.
  • Work independently while collaborating with the wider engineering team when required.
  • Support production and maintain plant reliability.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Evidence of multi-skilled experience (mechanical and electrical).
  • Previous experience in FMCG, food, or pharma manufacturing preferred but not essential.
  • Able to conduct themselves professionally and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to legacy factory equipment and troubleshoot effectively.
