This long-term contract role for a skilled Electrical Inspector offers a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise with a world-leading motorsport business in Northamptonshire. You will be a key member of the team, and the person securing this position will be crucial to the success of this dynamic company on its F1 and advanced engineering projects. The role is based 100% onsite in Brixworth, Northamptonshire.

Purpose of the role: Support manufacturing on all inspection tasks related to internally manufactured parts.

Requirements:

  • Experience in inspection within a low-volume, high-value, precision inspection environment.
  • Skilled in electrical testing and measurement inspection tasks.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and processes such as ISO, DIN, IPC, ANSI, JIT, BSI, SOPs, HPP models, and PCB schematics.
  • Ability to confirm the quality of components within required timescales using electrical test equipment, first principles inspection techniques, and automated/mechanical measurement/test equipment, including CAD models when appropriate.
  • Experience in creating measurement strategies for complex components or materials.
  • Qualification to inspect PCBs, loom, and harnesses to IPC610/620 standards.
  • Understanding of electrical components such as diodes, capacitors, and soldering processes.
  • Experience using computed tomography (CT) to confirm the quality of sealed electrical components.
  • Ability to liaise with other departments to optimize measurement strategies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Electro/Mechanical Apprenticeship and/or Mechanical/Electrical NVQ.
  • Metrology courses such as NPL Level 1, 2, and 3.
  • Intermediate CMM training.
  • IPC620/IPC610 certification.

  • Ability to work with others to deliver quality on time.
