Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

The Role

We are currently seeking a confident, experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of electrical and mechanical projects. This role involves managing contracts from initial planning through to successful delivery and handover. It will require regular travel to project sites and close collaboration with clients, consultants, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Lead and supervise on-site teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and health & safety standards
  • Control contract costs, manage variations, and monitor profitability
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships
  • Allocate and schedule work to subcontractors and internal teams
  • Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and other contract documentation
  • Review and interpret specifications, programmes, and technical drawings
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and project assessments
  • Work alongside the commercial team to value completed works and variations
  • Produce project progress reports as required
  • Mentor and support junior team members, promoting career development
  • Identify and promote additional service opportunities across contracts

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven track record in a similar role within electrical or mechanical contracting
  • Experience in commercial, residential, and industrial sectors
  • Strong understanding of electrical installations and contract management
  • Able to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ Level 3 / HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Sound knowledge of current health & safety regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Must pass a DBS check and have a clean security record

Desirable:

  • Experience in surveying and quoting for both small and large works
  • Familiarity with estimating or project management software
  • Previous experience working with end-user clients
  • Experience with fire and security systems, EV, or renewables installations
