Job Summary
Driver Resource is currently seeking to recruit Class 1 Drivers (HGV/LGV) to work on an ongoing basis for RXO on the Costco contract based at Crick, Northamptonshire.
Responsibilities
- Deliver 1–2 trunks per day to Costco stores, with a possible collection on the return trip from suppliers.
- Vehicle is pad‑locked; only opened by store staff upon arrival.
- Driver is expected to assist with loading only at one client destination; all other sites load the vehicle themselves.
- Carry out driving duties exclusively; no other tasks required.
Shift & Hours
Average hours per day: 10–12 hours. Weekday hours may be longer during busy periods; weekend shifts tend to be shorter. Minimum 8 hours per shift. My client is a 7‑day a week operation, 52 weeks a year. The Class 1 Driver’s availability is taken the week prior, and shift times are texted out daily by 9:00/9:30 am the day before. This contract does not employ permanent staff; all Class 1 drivers come from the agency.
Pay & Benefits
- Monday – Friday: £17.50 – Holiday accrual £19.61 – Holiday included
- Saturday: £19.50 – Holiday accrual £21.85 – Holiday included
- Sunday / Bank holidays: £21.50 – Holiday accrual £24.09 – Holiday included
Client also offers a yearly driver’s bonus recognition scheme. Eligible drivers receive £600 in high‑street vouchers at Christmas after completing 12 months, meeting all qualifying criteria (minimum 15 shifts per month, no no‑shows, no tachograph infringements, no avoidable accidents or injuries, no camera activations indicating unsafe behaviour, and not exceeding point limits). Bonus eligibility requires a minimum of 15 shifts in a calendar month, zero no‑shows, zero tachograph infringements, no accidents, and adherence to all safety requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Class 1 Driver’s License (minimum 6 months relevant experience on the license).
- Digital Tacho Card.
- Driver Qualification Card.
- No more than 6 points on the driving license.
- No Driving Record (DR) or IN conviction codes exceeding six points.
- Under 21 years old: not eligible.
- Excluded applicants: those with more than 6 points, DR/IN conviction codes above limits.
