We are currently recruiting a Building Services Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team based on site in Burton Latimer. This is a hands‑on role supporting the safe, efficient day‑to‑day operation of the facility. You’ll carry out general maintenance, repairs, inspections, and site upkeep while ensuring the highest standards of health & safety, hygiene, and food safety are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general building and site maintenance, including minor repairs to doors, floors, walls, fixtures, and fittings
- Complete basic plumbing, joinery, painting, and mechanical repair work
- Maintain non‑production equipment and site services such as lighting, drainage, shelving, locks, and small tools
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues affecting safety, hygiene, or operations
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine inspections
- Report defects, repeat faults, and larger repair requirements to the maintenance supervisor
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard
- Keep work areas clean, tidy, and safe at all times
- Follow strict food hygiene, HACCP, COSHH, and health & safety procedures
- Use tools and materials safely, including correct storage and disposal
- Assist with contractor supervision, equipment moves, installations, and site improvement projects
- Complete maintenance logs, checklists, and job records
- Actively promote and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture on site
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or site services
- Basic skills in plumbing, joinery, mechanical repairs, or general maintenance
- Practical maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- A proactive, reliable, and safety‑focused approach
- Ability to work independently while supporting a wider maintenance team
