Assistant Buyer – Housebuilding Project, Kettering

Location: Kettering

Start Date: September

Contract Type: 4-Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Buyer to join our team on a fast-paced housebuilding project in Kettering. We need a candidate who can hit the ground running and provide immediate support to the commercial team.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced in Housebuilding: You must have prior experience in a similar role within the housebuilding or construction sector.

  • A \”Go-Getter\”: You\’ll be confident in handling day-to-day buying queries and providing robust support to the commercial team.

  • Detail-Oriented: Your work will be critical to the project\’s success, requiring strong attention to detail for processing orders, invoices, and payments.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks:

This is a dynamic role covering a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Financial Administration: Processing and coding invoices, raising ad hoc purchase orders, and assisting with payment processing.

  • Supplier & Site Communication: Managing daily buying queries, following up on third-party delays, and resolving issues with site teams.

  • Reporting & Analysis: Conducting root cause analysis, preparing the insolvency watchlist, and providing CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) comments.

  • Procurement Support: Performing simple quantity takeoffs, reviewing technical drawings, and issuing order complete notices.
