Northampton Academy is looking for a strong, tenacious and personable assistant principal initially to support the VP Pastoral in overseeing the school's pastoral provision. The role involves ensuring the highest standards of behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and wellbeing provision are consistently met. You will collaborate closely with all key stakeholders to support the academy’s high expectations, bringing excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, a calm demeanor, resilience, and the ability to multi‑task.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and wellbeing.
- Support the Vice Principal in delivering the pastoral strategy and in liaising with staff, parents, students and external agencies.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, maintaining professional relationships and responding to concerns in a timely and empathetic manner.
- Champion inclusion and support the needs of all learners and staff.
