Hours: Full time and part time opportunities available (part time: 18.5 hours per week)

The Opportunity

Our Criminal Justice Department is recruiting for Prosecution Team Officer roles, with opportunities available for both current vacancies and future positions. As a Prosecution Team Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the preparation and progression of cases through the courts, helping to ensure offenders are brought to justice and that victims and witnesses receive a high level of service. Working in a fast-paced and detail-focused environment, you will collaborate with Police Officers, CPS lawyers, and court staff to manage case files from initial submission through to finalisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prepare and manage case files for Magistrates’ and Crown Court hearings
  • Ensure all case materials meet required standards, including quality assurance and disclosure requirements
  • Liaise with Police Officers, CPS lawyers and HMCTS to support effective case progression
  • Maintain accurate records across systems to support case management
  • Support the finalisation of cases following court outcomes
  • Contribute to reducing ineffective or delayed prosecutions through accurate and timely case preparation

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft M365
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System
  • Experience in a multi-agency environment
  • Experience using policing or case management systems
