The Opportunity
As a Logistics Officer within our joint Transport and Logistics Department, you’ll be responsible for purchasing low-value items, sourcing assets at the best value, and delivering them to various locations. You’ll maintain accurate audit trails for stock ordering, issuing, and receiving, ensuring compliance with service catalogues and finance policies.
Your role will involve:
- Monitoring and managing stock levels and conducting regular audits.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and storage guidelines.
- Handling daily inquiries and providing advice to internal colleagues and external partners.
- Building strong working relationships and supporting strategic supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the ordering and distribution of vehicle parts, where a working knowledge of vehicle parts would be advantageous.
- Support within the clothing store, issuing and ordering uniform for police officers and fire staff.
- Purchase low-value items up to £1,000, obtaining quotes where necessary.
- Deliver assets (clothing, equipment, vehicle parts) across North Yorkshire.
- Maintain accurate records and audit trails for all stock transactions.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, providing timely and accurate information.
- Ensure stock is organised, accessible, and stored safely.
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
- Plan and prioritise workloads effectively, acting as a single point of contact when needed.
