The Opportunity
Are you a highly organised, empathetic individual with excellent customer service skills and a passion for supporting others? We’re looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented administrator to join our Health, Safety & Wellbeing team, who is confident to work independently as well as part of the wider team.
You will be a key contact for Health, Safety and Wellbeing services, engaging with colleagues and providing a high quality, accurate and timely service including, but not limited to:
- Appropriately managing and responding to queries via email and telephone
- Maintaining accurate records using digital filing systems
- Preparing medical files for clinics
- Data reporting
- Processing Subject Access Requests, invoices
- Supporting the wider team with general administrative tasks such as photocopying and scanning
The nature of the work is very sensitive and attention to detail is vital in all areas. As such, previous experience of working within a sensitive and confidential environment would be desirable.
This is a unique opportunity to work across both Health & Safety and Health & Wellbeing functions, supporting vital services for North Yorkshire Police (NYP), North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (NYFRS), and the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC).
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Responsible for providing high quality, credible and timely transactional support service, delivering excellent customer service.
- Contribute to service improvements, manage and provide timely insightful data reports.
- Develop and maintain good knowledge of key procedures and processes, identifying, resolving and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Prepare and manage documentation for medical appointments and referrals.
- Respond to Health, Safety and Wellbeing queries with empathy and professionalism.
- Handle sensitive data with care and precision.
- Maintain accurate employee records and support diary management.
- Maintain training documentation and assist in the production of training materials.
- Be the friendly face and first point of contact for queries and signposting.
- Assist in coordinating Health, Safety & Wellbeing events across the region.
- Contribute to or participate in research or project work.
- Liaise with external agencies as required.

- Calm, composed, and solutions‑focused under pressure.
- Strong IT skills including proficiency in use of Microsoft Office packages such as but not restricted to: Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to juggle priorities and meet tight deadlines with accuracy.
- A flexible, proactive approach to supporting a diverse client base.
- An understanding of legislation relating to Health and Safety and Medical, confidential sensitive information is desirable but not essential.
