About the Role
As a MAST Administration Officer, you will play a key role in supporting North Yorkshire Police’s safeguarding efforts. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks that help ensure vulnerable children and adults receive timely and effective support. From managing sensitive data to liaising with schools and partner agencies, your work will directly contribute to the protection and wellbeing of those most at risk.
About MAST
The Multi Agency Screening Team (MAST) is a collaborative unit involving Social Care, Police, and Health professionals. Its purpose is to securely share information and make informed decisions about safeguarding and early help. MAST ensures that children, young people, and vulnerable adults receive consistent, coordinated support across agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Share daily safeguarding notifications to schools via Op Encompass, respond to enquiries, and act as the single point of contact for NYP
- Conduct system checks (NICHE, PNC, partner databases) at the direction of safeguarding Detective Sergeants to identify potential risks
- Create and manage records on NICHE, including vulnerability flags and new occurrences
- Review, prioritise, and report on Public Protection Notifications to support safeguarding decisions and service improvement
- Liaise with schools, external agencies, and the public via phone and written correspondence
- Manage office supplies, calendars, meetings, and general office operations
- Collate data and produce reports for internal and external stakeholders, including performance statistics and demand tracking
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across diverse platforms
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
- Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information
- High-level organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage process-driven workloads under pressure
- Confidence working independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems
- Willingness to undertake PNC training upon starting

- Experience in a safeguarding or multi-agency environment (training provided if not)
