About the role

As Payroll, People Systems & Volunteer Services Administrator, you’ll provide vital administrative support across the organisation, with a particular focus on volunteer services. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient processes for recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and contract changes for both staff and volunteers. Alongside supporting safer recruitment checks such as references and DBS, you’ll contribute to volunteer projects and help maintain accurate records across our people systems. You’ll also support key stages of the payroll cycle, ensuring processes are completed accurately and on time. This is a varied role where attention to detail, organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.

About You

You’re a highly organised and detail-focused administrator with strong IT skills and confidence using systems such as Word, Excel and databases. Comfortable working with data and numbers, you bring accuracy and care to everything you do. With experience in an administrative role — ideally within HR, payroll or volunteer services — you’re adaptable and able to balance a range of tasks across different areas. You’re a quick learner, resilient and able to respond positively to changing priorities. A strong communicator, you work with tact and professionalism, building positive relationships with colleagues and volunteers. Customer-focused and motivated by making a difference, you’re committed to supporting the vital work of the organisation and the people who make it possible. Passionate about sustainable retail, you understand current trends and take pride in delivering well-presented shops that maximise sales.
