About the role
This role plays a key part in developing and delivering our new Just ’B’ Male Service across North Yorkshire, helping us better meet the emotional wellbeing and mental health needs of men in our community. With a focus on increasing engagement, you’ll provide both one-to-one and group support, helping individuals access the right help at the right time. You’ll hold a caseload of clients and deliver support face to face, by telephone, and via online platforms, building meaningful, trusting relationships. You’ll also help actively promote the service using innovative and accessible approaches, working closely with colleagues and professionals to strengthen pathways of support and ensure men feel connected, understood and supported.
About You
You are a qualified counsellor with significant experience supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of men. Confident in your ability to build strong, trusting relationships, you communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and partner professionals, and bring a calm, grounded presence to your work. Highly organised and self-aware, you manage a varied caseload with strong time management skills and a measured approach to stressful situations. You are resilient, reflective and committed to your own continuous professional development, as well as supporting the growth of others. Flexible, collaborative and motivated by a genuine desire to make a difference, you embrace innovation in service delivery and are comfortable working across different locations. Above all, you are committed to confidentiality, inclusion, and the values of North Yorkshire Hospice Care, and you bring a compassionate, person-centred approach to all that you do.
