We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our on‑call firefighter team. As an on‑call firefighter, you will respond to emergencies and keep your community safe while balancing work and personal life. On‑call firefighters declare their availability and must be within four minutes of the fire station during those hours. They also attend a weekly training evening to develop skills and team camaraderie.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to emergencies when called, ensuring prompt arrival within four minutes of the station.
- Attend weekly training sessions covering firefighting techniques, first aid, and equipment use.
- Maintain readiness and comply with fitness, strength and medical assessments, including a breathing apparatus test.
- Communicate via pager and stay calm under pressure.
- Participate in fire prevention activities and engage with the community.
Key Requirements
- Live or work within four minutes of the designated fire station.
- Be 18 years of age or older, physically fit, and able to pass fitness and medical assessments.
- Hold a full UK manual driving licence.
- Have the right to work in the UK without restrictions.
