We are looking for committed and hardworking Seasonal Cleansing operatives to join our Scarborough team. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact in the community by helping maintain clean, safe and welcoming public spaces throughout the busy season.
About the Role
Working within a dedicated crew, you will support the cleanliness of pavements, footpaths and public areas. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Litter picking
- Emptying street bins
- Removing graffiti
- Maintaining public conveniences
- Participating in household waste and recycling collections
- Handling bags, wheelie bins and recycling containers
- Using lifting equipment on refuse vehicles
Health and safety is central to the role, and you will assist drivers in manoeuvring vehicles through residential streets. The role may involve early starts and weekend working. You will also support the service during adverse weather events, including distributing sandbags, and may help gather evidence for investigations into illegal waste disposal. Training will be provided to work behind a refuse collection truck when required.
Key Details
- Five-day working pattern including one weekend day
- Shifts between 6:00am and 8:00pm (likely 12:00-20:00)
- Additional £30 payment for each weekend day worked
We are looking for individuals with strong communication skills, a positive approach to teamwork and a commitment to high standards. A clean driving licence is desirable.
