We are seeking a Pest Control Officer to join our Regulatory Services team. This role is vital in delivering high-quality pest control services, supporting our statutory duties, and promoting community well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out pest control treatments in domestic, commercial, and public premises in line with council policies and legal requirements.
  • Respond to service requests promptly and professionally, ensuring excellent customer care.
  • Provide advice and guidance to residents and businesses on pest prevention and control measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, treatments, and follow-up visits using council systems.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and COSHH regulations.
  • Support wider environmental enforcement and public health initiatives as required.

Essential Requirements

  • RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management (or equivalent).
  • Experience in pest control operations, preferably within a local authority or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of pest biology, treatment techniques, and safe pesticide use.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse communities.
  • Full UK driving licence.

We would seriously consider suitable applicants who have transferable skills but don’t yet possess exactly the right qualifications.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with local authority procedures and statutory responsibilities.
  • IT skills for case management and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
